The Locomotion

You'd have to be a fan of DLT's 'Think Link' to guess the link between the title of this blog and its usual useless content.

After hearing of the Thinking Blog Award I thought of setting up an unthinking blog award. Not to denigrate any thinkers but to celebrate the mind numbing drivel that is put on the web at times. The kind of stuff that either makes you laugh or scream "Haven't they got anything better to do than blog?" whilst you while away the hours WILFing.

Hence the Empty Vessel Award or the EVA's.

I elect myself Chief EWOK (Empty With Out Knowledge) and hereby nominate Ruthodanort, Scallowawife, PuffinBillyUnst, Damadcoo & Soljey as recipients of the first set of EVA's.

Any more suggested acronyms anyone?

Here Comes The Sun

The Greenpeace Ship Arctic Sunrise was lying in Tresta Wick today.

The Arctic Sunrise.

Apparently it is protesting at the fishing of Cod in the North Sea and is en-route to the East Coast of Scotland.

Green Green Grass of 成人快手

Greenpeace visits Fetlar.

It has been a busy week here in Fetlar. We're waiting for the Red Necked Phalaropes to arrive, tourists are beginning to come for the summer season, the Interpretive Centre is open, the School has visited the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise by speedboat and the new improved inter-island ferry timetable has started.

As for the weather: Spring has decided to go elsewhere - all blustery showers and wind this week after the beautifully settled weather of the first week in May.
Typical! The ground is wet - the grass is growing.

The Garden of Shetland is taking on a green hue again after winter.

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

We've had some strange weather recently. A glowing orb has been seen in the sky until well after 10pm (on some days). Some days its still there at 4am. A howling wind has made its presence felt on other days. Some days there's even been nae wind. Other days we've had hail.

Here's a nice picture of Fetlar from the sea.

Sun on the blue banks.

Is this summer?
