Another Suitcase in Another Hall

A rejoinder to Soljey:
The slightly amended lyrics to the chorus in this ditty are:
Soljey: So what happens now?
Consort: Another suitcase in another hall
Soljey: So what happens now?
Consort: Take your passport off another desk
Soljey: Where am I going to?
Consort: You'll get by, you always have before
Soljey: Where am I going to?
Consort: Tunisia, Love; without our luggage.
I also flew south to Manchester with BA/Loganair & BA/FlyBe. Its confusing but that鈥檚 big business for you. Thank goodness we don鈥檛 have a direct connection by air from Fetlar. At least the Ferry still runs to a timetable and hasn鈥檛 changed operator.
I decided to confuse the baggage handling at Edinburgh & Manchester by not taking any hold luggage. I have had the 鈥淲ell your bag isn鈥檛 on the system鈥 before. Now I indulge in the North Isles tradition of either taking an empty suitcase south or buying a case in the deep south, filling it with products of desire and entrusting it unwillingly to FlyBe/BA/Loganair/WrightBrothers/SkyTrain with the thought that if it disappears into the chasm of Manchester or Edinburgh it won鈥檛 be life threatening.
Incidentally this system worked on the way down. There is nothing as pleasing as knowing that you don鈥檛 have to stare endlessly at the baggage carousel wondering what fine destination your bag might be enjoying.
For those of you interested the flight south from Shetland was on time & arrived early in Auld Reekie. However, there were ominous portents: the flight to Manchester immediately prior to mine was delayed by an hour. So the inevitable happened: 2 hour delay due to 鈥渢echnical reasons鈥. Soljey鈥檚 lost bags on the runway perhaps?
But at least I had my bag with me!
This is really a tidying up blog. Another loose end to link up:
First to Scallowawife: The caption of the image on this blog says, 鈥淭hings of importance will appear shortly or maybe they won't. More likely nothing of importance will appear. 鈥
You can鈥檛 say you haven鈥檛 been warned that there might not be much sense on this blog. We leave sense to FetlarSchool in Fetlar, of course. The Scallowawife criticised me in person for not posting frequently. The phrase pot and kettle springs to mind.
At least I can find my chocolates in my car! Huh!
Second:
Yes鈥. My new Virulent blue suitcase did go missing on the return flight. I saw it come off the Manchester flight at the same time as me and saw it head into the terminal building at the same time as I was boarding the Shetland flight. It didn鈥檛 come out again.
Staff at Wilsness (Sumburgh) were excellent though, and my violently blue bag was on the 1020 ferry the following day- delivered by taxi. Thank you. Mac now has all the can鈥檛-be-bought-here dog treats from the south. He is pleased.
Thirdly:
Soljey鈥檚 Consort visited me this week and, to add insult to injury, confirmed that she had seen my bag arrive at Sumburgh whilst theirs are still AWOL. Ironic isn鈥檛 it? It鈥檚 probably that no one else would be seen dead with the violently blue case.
AWOL? Arrived With Out Luggage.

Happy Birthday for the 16th April Ruthodanort!
Happy Birthday to a thirty something mother of four born in Fife, brought up in Orkney, and living in Unst.
Only 87? Really?
I think she may have been worried about which image I could have posted from the extensive collection of embarrassing moments.
Septic Peg anyone?

Busy time in Fetlar. I'm on the move again. Anyone would think I'm being pursued by dark forces. Gollum perhaps?
Last weekend Consort (without Soljey) helped me clean & paint. This weekend its all hands to the van as I move. Such fun!
Carpets, curtains & even floor coverings are being re-homed as we speak. Its better than cleaning or moving them.
And yes, only one room is magnolia (but its as tasteful as all my previous magnolia offerings).
Rumour also has it that there is a natural swimming pool nearby as well.

Its too nice to spend ages blogging so I took lots of Fetlar pictures as we've had nice weather. Unfortunately the camera lead has disappeared into an unpacked box so they'll be delayed.
Happy Sunbathing.
Its 14 degrees! Wow!

Happy Birthday Soljey!
Perhaps your bags will turn up before your bus pass does.
(That's a few years).
