Money For Nothing

It actually isn't money for nothing. Its a small amount of money to purchase a variety of excellent products.

The full range of products!

The Fetlar School has got to the business end of their enterprise project. They have made Ferry Timetables, Postcards & Bookmarks. They have made a variety of Ferry Timetables: ones for the car, ones for the pocket & the peerie ones. They are all easy to understand & cost 拢1. They even float on the sea if you drop them because they are laminated!

The postcards and bookmarks feature Fetlar scenes and are well worth buying.

Hey, MV, this is a 成人快手 site and advertising is usually frowned upon. Has Anne dropped off ( to sleep that is ) and not paying attention ? How did you sneak this one in? Will be keeping a watch on this blog in the future. You won't get your kicks for free here.

Tws from Advertisingwatchdogskennel

Oh, take it easy TWS. It's for the school. Thank heavens Anne has selective vision.

mjc from NM,USA

Perrhaps Anne should visit the opticians with you Tws

Barebraes from Shapinsay

Come on Tws, there's only three of them left. They need all the help they can get! (what's a skennel?)

Fetlar School Ferry Timetables. Do the SIC know? Will the ferrymen run to these timetables? Are they better time than advertised in the official timetables? I think we should be tolld. And, by the way, if they are better timetables maybe you could sub contract to North Ronaldsay; I believe they are unhappy with theirs. Stop! stop! No more silliness; well done bairns I hope you sell plenty.

Hyper-Borean from The Pier Heid

Think the timetable to North Ron could be done very simply. 1 ferry once a week I believe. They sold over 150 copies of the winter one.

FetlarSchool from Fetlar

look, mjc. and your cohort Fc., I wasn't being serious about it. So take it easy, relax, and get your Dander down Fc ( if that is possible )

Tws from Inthedock

I can vouch for the superior quality of the Fetlar School Ferry Timetables. You can actually understand them sufficiently to catch a ferry!

Ruthodanort from Unst

Pure Genius!

Flying Cat from an admiring glance

North Ronaldsay ferry timetable: is it once a week during the summer (one direction one week, the other direction the following week?), once every two weeks during the winter? No ferry service during the equinox and eclipses (both lunar and solar), right? All credit cards accepted, I hope? Do passengers have to weigh in when they board, and is it true a penalty is levied for those above a certain gross weight? I certainly hope all that pertinent information will be in the Ronaldsay Timetable put out by the Fetlar school in the near future.

mjc from NM,USA

Catching ferries; I've just sussed out what Mac was doing at Norik. Most collies chase cars he's just chasing ferries.

Hyper-Borean from The Pier Heid

North Ron ferry mjc. Once a week, return trip but here is the catch. It is done by one of the ro-ro boats which serve the other North Isles which is too deep draughted to use the N Ron pier at certain states of the tide so the timetable is to some extent variable subject to tides. Add to this the wish of the islanders to have a more frequent service and the lack of free time in the current timetable to the larger islands and you have a dilemma. The OIC resolve this to some extent by subsidisng the air service. 拢12 return to or from Kirkwall for island residents and also for visitors who remain overnight on the Island. Funnily enough whilst nobody gets weighed before boarding the boat it does happen to airline passengers if the plane is full or nearly so. The Islander aircraft only has 9 passenger seats and one of those is next to the pilot, it really is a wonderful way to fly. It is also one of the longest lived internal air services in Britain dating back to the 1930s. Papa Westray has a similar problem with the its pier but proximity to Westray means a connecting ferry can alleviate the situation. They also benefit from the subsidised air fares which means that for 拢12 plus a nights bed and breakfast you can fly the worlds shortest scheduled airline service 2 minutes from Westray to Papa Westray or vice versa.

Hyper-Borean from A lunar table

Gasp! All that info packed into a comment. Isn't H-B wonderful!

Flying Cat from a lunar tic

Golly, Hyper-B. I'm impressed. Amazing. And you don't even live in North Ronaldsay!!

mjc from NM,USA

Very few do.

Flying Cat from a census

Fetlar School has NO plans to take over the OIC timetabling service. Incidentally we have a nice range of postcards! We have even post tested them & they survived. Good Old GPO!

FetlarSchool from Fetlar

GPO? I detect the hand of an Older Person here, what with the use of Ancient Terminology!

Flying Cat from EffCee & The Detectives

Sorry. somewhat inexplicably, I find myself mixing up Muness and Fetlar School....

Flying Cat from confused but bearing up

When I were a lad my dad was a postie for a few years. My grannie used to call his employer "God's Poor Orphans." I suspect this was a reflection on the remuneration!

Hyper-Borean from The stamp shop

Could have called it snail mail (but our postie doesn't do snails pace).

Muness from Fetlar

Mmmm snails in garlic and parsley suce, crusty bread and a glass or three of Entre Deux Mers.....

Flying Cat from dribblingalloverthejoint

... before retiring entre deux draps. Vive la France (without the Frenchies).

mjc from NM,USA

We've sold 40 already (17th April).
