Morgan Stanley Garden for Great Ormond Street Hospital
Trees with large canopies break every view around, up and down, so nature is the first thing you see.
Jewels of colour pop and sing throughout, but subtlety is key.
The roof of the structure is designed so light will hit the sculpture of a child every morning at around 10:20am in the summer.
The garden, sculptures, and trees will all be lit at night – because no one knows when they may need a bit of garden time.
Designer profile
Chris laughed when he first thought of this project, describing it as quite possibly the hardest garden he has ever built. He says there was so much to consider – the logistics of moving the garden to the hospital are extreme!
He is a six times gold medal winner at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and has won the People’s Choice Award three times.
