The Watahan East & West Garden

This garden represents the contrast between the East and West.
On the West side - pink, orange, purple flowers and green leaves are planted in front of a pure white wall.
On the East side - the flowering plants are more simplistic whites and yellow, where green leaves contrast against a jet black wall.
The reflective water pool symbolises the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Designer profile

Chirhori Shibiyama’s design and Yano Tea’s tutelage combine to bring this garden, which was two years in the making, to life.

They hope to have brought the European love for symmetry and the Japanese love for asymmetry together sympathetically.
