Fun, games and a bit of a sing-song with actress Gillian Elisa or tea, cake and a gossip with Derek Brockway and Wales Today's Sian Lloyd - these were some of the 成人快手 events on offer for Welsh learners at the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff.
Pobol y Cwm actors also came to Maes D to face questions from learners, ranging from the stresses and strains of filming an upsetting storyline to who laughs the most on set - Nia Caron and Gareth Lewis who play Anita and Meic revealed they often got a fit of the giggles.
And there was a decisive win for the team of Helen Mary Jones AM who faced MP Paul Flynn's team in a multimedia learners' quiz presented by Gwenfair Griffith from the TV news bulletin for learners, Yr Wythnos.
For the second year running the The Big Welsh Challenge Treasure Hunt gave learners the chance to practise their Welsh by asking questions to find out information at different stands on the Maes.
Dozens of learners took the opportunity to sign up for the Big Welsh Challenge mentoring scheme during the Eisteddfod, including a man from South Africa and another who's learning in Spain. A number of Welsh speakers also put their names forward to partner learners and give them support - either face-to-face or online. We're still looking for mentors and learners across the UK - if you're interested in joining the scheme or would just like more information, please email Mentoring |
