Everton manager Frank Lampard has won all nine of his managerial clashes against sides from a lower division than the team he was managing, with six of those games coming in the FA Cup.

Since his first game in the FA Cup in January 2019, only Pep Guardiola (17) has won more matches in the FA Cup than Lampard (10).

    Everton

Everton boss Frank Lampard tells ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Sport: "Clean sheet but we were too slow in the first half and Boreham Wood were organised, we did not give them enough problems. Second half we were more urgent, a brighter performance and we created a lot. You need that goal to give you comfort in a game like this and when we got it, it was comfortable. All credit to them, they made it tough for us. It was a big night for them but we got the job done.

"There are lots of factors, it was a huge, huge night for them, well deserved and they had a massive support that travelled up. It was the game of their life for some of the players and they gave it their all. They are well coached, well organised and are no fools. If you don't score early, there may be nerves around the ground and I understand that. Fair play to them, I wish them well going forward.

"We train at a level and play at a level in the Premier League which you have to make that count. In the first half we didn't, we made it easy for them but when we raised the level and moved the ball quicker, you can see spaces open up and created from that."

On Salomon Rondon's performance: "Pleased for him. Since I came here he has not been a starter for me but when you call on him he has qualities. I see it in training. He was patient with his chances and comes in and scores two goals, you need goalscorers on your team, with the position we are in in the league."

On facing Crystal Palace in the quarter-final: "It is a really tough match, you want a home draw. You have to focus in the league in the meantime. You have to believe for the fans and players to make a trip to Wembley if we get past Palace."

    FT: Everton 2-0 Boreham Wood

Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard tells ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Sport: "They are a good side, our first-half performance we had about seven percent possession, we tried to slow the game down, they bench was getting frustrated, we were organised, well drilled and limited them to angled balls. They bring on Richarlison to get a foothold in the game and they kicked on in gears, they caused us problems an I am thankful the floodgates did not open up.

"Everytime we turned the ball over and tried to counter, they were at their best. We did not want to do that, we did not want to go for three, four or five but we had to stay in the game. Could we had gone for it at 78 minutes? Maybe, but then you are on a hiding to nothing.

"Did I think we were going to beat Everton? I thought we would have more moments, The team he picked was tremendous, has not disrespected us and we have give a great account of ourselves. It has been a fairytale, we have gripped the nation's hearts throughout this cup run and the moments at Bournemouth will live long in my memory. The fans have been colossal and they have been shouting all game.

"It has been brilliant, the whole journey from Barnet. Did I think five games on we would be at Goodison? Not in a million years. What we have achieved as a small town club, let's hope the fans turn up and really give us a push until the end of the season.

"I know how tough they have worked this evening, we have given them a few days off and we will enjoy tonight."

Boreham Wood defender, and boyhood Everton fan, Kane Smith told ITV: "We frustrated them and settled in like we thought we would. We defended well but they ran us tired. They moved the ball so well.

"We stuck to the game plan and frustrated them. We tried pressing but they moved the ball so quickly so it was very hard.

"I had a few injections and a lot of tablets but I just needed to play and I'm glad I got through 70 minutes.

"I knew the fans would give me a great reception but it was outstanding. I cannot thank them enough and that will live long in the memory."

    FT: Everton 2-0 Boreham Wood

Speaking to ITV, Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard said: "We didn't really have many spells and they dominated the ball. We were waiting for one moment but Everton managed it superbly.

We just went over 500 minutes in the FA Cup without conceding a goal but their movement and their runs were just class.

The fans have been amazing they didn't stop singing. It's a shame we didn't give them their moment but they were class and they gave us everything.

What this group has done is fantastic and we have been in the last 16 of a national cup competition.

Boreham Wood did not let themselves down at all tonight. They were organised and they have a manager who understands tactics.

They didn't make a lot of chances but I'm still impressed by them because they worried Everton a bit.

That is a real feather in the cap for Boreham Wood that Everton had to bring Richarlison on.
