Um. If we believe all the garbage on 'Embrace Wind' we are surely doomed. An excellent example of manipulated half truths and myths to promote a nonsence industry and political statement. Yes, windmills are green but they do NOT solve our problem of over indulgence and consequential polution. And as for the site opening with a Chris Tarrant quote - unless there is a Chris Tarrant, world expert on global ecology, physics and biochemistry etc.. I've not heard of.... Arh, it says "TV host". well that reassures me - not.
And Jane, why sit on the fence?

Greetings Jane. I didn鈥檛 know of the site but thanks for pointing it out. Curiosity about who built this site made me check out who "Embrace wind" is. I tend to like to know who is selling me what and when a web site doesn鈥檛 explain who they are, contact details etc that usually arouses my curiosity. A quick search reveals that the web site is registered to one Tom Murphy who is web and IT manager at The British Wind Energy Association. The British Wind Energy Association is the largest trade and professional body for wind energy industry in the UK with a membership of over 500, including more than 180 corporate members. Perhaps this may have answered my question about who is selling me what: the BWEA is drumming up business / support for its members by hiding behind sites like Embrace Wind. As to the content - perhaps another day.
I am much more interested to hear if there have been any developments with your provision of petrol and your thoughts on the ferry issue?

What - a website called Embrace Wind is run by pro-renewable energy people?!? This is a major scoop - have you thought of a career in investigative journalism?
What WAS a real eye-opener was the news that groups like the 'Country Guardian' was fronted by Thatchers ex-press secretary Bernard Ingham a director of an organisation called the Supporters of Nuclear Energy...
I dont think Embrace Wind is in any way ambiguous about its beliefs. This is a wind energy group lobbying for wind energy, and the problem is....

Greetings Jane. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the tangle regarding the ferry issue. I don't think things are much clearer having reading the CC mins but maybe that is the situation at the moment! Thanks for the note of the death of Mr Gunn.
