Varada Sethu: ‘I was winging it for the first episode of Doctor Who’
Doctor Who returns to our screens with actor Varada Sethu joining the cast as the Doctor’s companion, Belinda Chandra.
She’s starring alongside Ncuti Gatwa, who plays the 15th Doctor in the iconic TV series.
Varada joined Datshiane Navanayagam in the Woman's Hour studio and spoke about getting stuck into filming just a few weeks after getting the role, what it means to join the cast and why she thinks representation on screen still matters.
