Storage

Bao buns can be frozen, between layers of greaseproof paper to stop them from sticking, for up to three months.

Preparation

The fillings for bao buns are usually highly flavoured, colourful and complement the sweet buns. Roasted pork in sticky glaze is popular, combined with shredded spring onion and other vegetables. But chicken, tofu, cauliflower and slow-cooked beef are other great options.
