 Rachel

Hi readers of the Chris Moyles Show blog, I hope you're having a good day. Firstly I must apologise for the lack of blogs from me & the rest of the team over the last few weeks. We've given ourselves a kick up the backside and will now be back on form. Promise!

So...what do I write about? My life is pretty surreal at the moment. Each day I'm either training for Kilimanjaro, planning my wedding or producing the show with the likes of Keifer Sutherland and Will Smith dropping in! I sometimes have to pinch myself to work out where I am. On Sunday, I went to a wedding fayre in Kidderminster looking at cakes and dresses with my Mum, the next day I'm training in an oxygen chamber with Chris, Ben Shepherd and Gary Barlow. As I said it really is surreal at the moment, but I love it.

It's 4 weeks until Chris and the other celeb climbers head to Kilimanjaro. Chris is going to be making calls into Radio 1 each day of the climb, so you'll be able to hear how it's all going. I'm going along to make sure everything runs smoothly. My training is going pretty well and what's even better is that I've managed to lose a bit of weight too. I think I've turned into a bit of a bore harping on to anyone who will listen about my training programme, but I am so shocked at how good walking is for you AND better still it's so easy. You don't need to get all sweaty in the gym, you just need to get your boots or trainers on and go out. Obviously you need to do a bit of a distance and maybe some hills, but it beats going to the gym.

The Kilimanjaro climb is all for , which you probably know anyway. Make sure you listen on Monday as will be on the show. That's the day when we'll launch the donation pages for the climb and we'll be starting our mision to raise as much money as possible.

Right, that's all from me, I better get on with some work!
Have a nice day now
Rachel x

    Hi Rachel,

Just a quick question to either you or other readers who might know the answer...

is the show having a break when you and Chris go to Kilimanjaro or is someone filling in for Chris and you?

    Andrew.

It was a bit strange reading this, 'cause your picture didn't load on my page and it just said 'Aled' on the left hand side of the page so I read it as his entry.

So as I was reading it, this is what I was thinking....

'Each day I'm either training for Kilimanjaro..'

    (thinking)
'wow, hes heading up Kilimanjaro thats pretty ambitious, and he presents the Surgery (not as the same time mind, he might be a bit out of breath, and who wants to discuss penis envy when there halfway up a mountain?), is there no end to this Welsh lads talents...'

    ''planning my wedding...'

'Cool hes getting married, a nice sedate civil partnership possible in Wales, maybe London? I wonder who he'll invite, and more importantly who he won't?'..

'On Sunday, I went to a wedding fayre in Kidderminster looking at cakes and dresses with my Mum'

'Mmmm. He's gonna be wearing a dress. OK, interesting. I wonder if he'll have a train, and whether Chappers and Dave i'll be the bridesmaids..' Hope he blogs the photos.'

Anyway, I've now realised that it isn't, which is slightly disappointing in retrospect, but still very interesting to know what your up to.

I don't know why I'm telling you this. Good luck with your climb.

I do seriously hope that Chris has packed up the cigarettes, otherwise he won't make it up Kilimanjaro. He said on the show last year that he finds it difficult walking up stairs, blimey if he is out of breath after doing that, he can forget climbing Kilimanjaro! However, if he has given up the fags well done. Just remember when you get out there, Kilimanjaro is higher than you think it is when you see it for real(instead of in a book). Good luck, and I'm looking forward to listening to Chris's updates from the mountain via Satelite Phone.

Rachel, bet you couldn't wait for your chance to get up Kilimanjaro with Gary Barolow :)

My claim to fame was meeting him on my which was pretty cool, he bought me a drink as well!
