Reflexive verbs and the perfect tense

All reflexive verbs form the perfect tense with 锚迟谤别 and therefore just as in normal past tense sentences, the past participle agrees with the subject (feminine subject add -e, plural add -s and feminine plural add -es).

In the perfect tense, the reflexive pronoun always goes before the auxiliary verb, ie before the part of 锚迟谤别 being used:

  • je me suis lav茅(e)
  • tu t'es lav茅(e)
  • il s'est lav茅
  • elle s'est lav茅e
  • on s'est lav茅(e)(s)
  • nous nous sommes lav茅(e)s
  • vous vous 锚tes lav茅(e)(s)
  • ils se sont lav茅s
  • elles se sont lav茅es

Examples:

  • je me suis lev茅e 脿 huit heures - I got up at 8.00
  • elle 蝉鈥檈蝉迟 bien 补尘耻蝉茅别 - she had fun
  • ils se sont r茅veill茅s tr猫s t么t - they woke up really early

Questions and the reflexive pronoun

In questions, the reflexive pronoun goes before the verb:

  • Comment t'appelles-tu ? - What's your name?
  • 脌 quelle heure vous 锚tes-vous couch茅s ? - What time did you go to bed?
  • Est-ce qu鈥檈lle se l猫ve 脿 7h ? - Does she get up at seven o鈥檆lock?
