Housed in what is now The Mall in Middlesbrough, it was a key part of your clubbing days. Now the time has come for a Madison re-union party, so make some space in your social life... "Welcome to Madison" no longer in lights On Saturday 16 May the official re-union party of Madison and Macy's will take place at Club Platinum, the old Havana, in Middlesbrough. Madison nightclub or as it was more commonly known around these parts as "the Madhouse" or "Mad Dogs", was part of the old Cleveland Centre, now The Mall, in the heart of Middlesbrough.听 The original club closed down in the late 1990s but for over 20 years it was a must for Teesside clubbers. Madison clubber Lisa with a Chippendale Over the last couple of years 成人快手 Tees' John Foster has been celebrating all that was fantastic about Madison on his Saturday night show. The telephone box, the music, the atmosphere, the people... and of course the DJs all made it a unique and unfortgettable experience. Each week we are still amazed at the response we get on this site and on John's show about the club. Whether it's sharing your memories or taking a look at the photos of the Madison as it was and as it looks now, you continue to get in touch.
Help playing audio/video So what was it about the Madison?John Foster explains. "Quite simply it was Middlesbrough's top club. A place that was utterly unique. "You met your friends there... you knew the staff and you just had a great time and if you ever went to the Cleveland Centre car park entrance you maybe had a better night... "You were bound to see someone famous in there. Maybe the Boro players or someone who was in the area at the time. "When we've talked about the madhouse before we've had Barbara Windsor to Tony Mowbray in there but not at the same time you understand!" The famous telephone box at Madison What made it so special?"That telephone box! It felt like a night out... you got dressed up to go there. "First you would have a bevvie in Billy Paul's then up the stairs to The Madhouse where within 5 minutes you would bump into someone you knew. What tune is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor? "Anything by Chic or Change." The re-union partyThe Madison & Macy's official re-union party will feature an all star original DJ line up. Head down to The Star on Southfield Road for the pre party before making your way to Club Platinum for the main party.
