No doubt who the morning belongs to in Southampton - the Warwickshire batters.
If any eyebrows were raised about Alex Davies' decision to bat on an overcast April morning, they have been well and truly dispelled.
Davies goes to lunch on 45, with opener Rob Yates purring on 68.
Hampshire really need to up their game when they return in 40 minutes time.

A very good 10-over session for the hosts at Chelmsford.
To remove both Lancashire openers, and captain Keaton Jennings in particular, represents a terrific bounty from 45 minutes of cricket.
Somerset v Notts 72-3
Lewis Gregory's two wickets have definitely swung the morning session towards Somerset.
Ben Slater and Will Young had looked well set and put on 49 after Haseeb Hameed's third-ball duck off Craig Overton.
But Gregory trapped Slater to break the stand, and then dismissed Young in the same manner to leave Notts in a spot of bother.
Joe Clarke (11) and Matt Montgomery (9) have rebuilding to do.

Umpires Peter Hartley and Surendiran Shanmugam have decided to take an early lunch at Derby, where the players have been off for about 40 minutes because of rain.
Leicestershire will be satisfied with their part-morning's work, getting through 18 overs with their openers still together.
Rishi Patel is 35 not out and Australian Marcus Harris has 22. Four bowlers used so far by Derbyshire.

Joe Clarke unfurls a lovely shot through the covers for four off for his first boundary of the day.
He then claims a rather more streaky four from the fifth ball of the over off the thickest of edges.
Craig Overton comes back on, 10 minutes before lunch, to try and nibble out a fourth Notts batter.

Tom Clark isn't quick enough to bowl that line.
He is wide of off stump in his opening over at Hove and Miles Hammond has all the time he needs to thump it away through the covers for four.
Lunch about 10 minutes away now for Gloucestershire - can they avoid further loss before then?

There wasn鈥檛 much joy for the main Hampshire seamers Kyle Abbott and Mohammad Abbas last week.
This match has started pretty much the same. You鈥檇 be forgiven for thinking both bowlers were still using the Kookaburra ball. Not much has beaten the bat.
Take nothing away from Alex Davies and Rob Yates though. Both have presented a very straight bat. Yates punished Abbott early on with several front foot drives when the bowler over pitched.
Liam Dawson was introduced after just 16 overs. I think he will be sending down a few overs today.

Essex captain Tom Westley hooks Jamie Porter after just three overs and new bowler Shane Snater strikes with his fourth ball.
Coming round the wicket, Snater squares Jennings up and the ball flies quickly to gully where Matt Critchley takes an excellent catch low down.
Runs, wickets and catches - Critchley has started the season in great form.
Worcs v Durham 52-2
David Bedingham takes back-to-back boundaries off Matthew Waite's first over since replacing Joe Leach to bring up the Durham fifty in the 15th over.
It's been heavy going for the visitors, but the third-wicket pair have played themselves in.
Bedingham has hurried to 21 off 33, while Colin Ackermann has a more watchful 19 from 47 balls.
Kent v Surrey - start delayed
Better news from Canterbury where the umpires have taken a look and decided that play can begin at 13:25.

He mixed bag as five runs off the bat, four dots and a no-ball.
