He tries a forcing stroke off Ben Sanderson at Northampton and Ricardo Vasconcelos takes a sharp chance in front of his face at third slip.
Glamorgan in a bit of bother.

Kyle Abbott, who struggled this morning, strikes with his fourth ball after the interval. He gets it in the right area with a touch of shape away from the left-hander and Rob Yates feathers it behind.
That is a good one to claim as Yates looked in good nick.
Somerset v Notts 78-3
Lewis Gregory gets us going after lunch at Taunton.
Gregory bowled superbly at first change this morning, trapping both Will Young and Ben Slater in a miserly six-over spell of 2-7.
Matt Montgomery takes a two and single to take his partnership with Joe Clarke to 26 runs. A lot is riding on their shoulders you feel.
Craig Overton opens at the other end and beats the bat of Montgomery first up. He's done that ad nauseam today but just one wicket so far for the big man.
Sussex v Gloucestershire 82-2
A brief stoppage in Sussex-on-Sea and the players will return to the field at 14:00 BST with Gloucestershire set to resume their innings.

The left-hander plays around a straight one from the ever reliable Ben Sanderson and the decision is a formality for the umpire.

Durham have recovered from a difficult start at Kidderminster and are now 89-2 at lunch.
Scott Borthwick chose to bat on his 34th birthday, but was back in the pavilion at the end of the first over, bowled by Joe Leach for a second-ball duck.
Alex Lees soon followed, edging Kiwi Nathan Smith to Jason Holder at second slip. Holder took an excellent low catch to dismiss Lees for six.
Colin Ackermann and David Bedingham have since ground out a decent partnership of 70 runs from 143 balls.
Ackermann appeared to be dropped off Holder, though, by Adam Finch at mid-wicket, when he was on 18. And Bedingham also had a life when he was caught behind on 11, off Leach, but it was a no-ball.

That's the 50 stand for Durham's third wicket as Colin Ackermann whips Nathan Smith away for a single.
The visitors were in bother at 19-2 after Scott Borthwick fell to Joe Leach for a second-ball duck and Alex Lees edged Nathan Smith to Jason Holder.
But David Bedingham and the obdurate Colin Ackermann (both 29 not out) have led the recovery with few real alarms.
They have put in the hard yards and will now want to survive until lunch and then cash in. The interval will come at 1:30 after the half-hour's delay to the start of play.

Somerset will feel they鈥檝e had the better of the morning session at Taunton, where the gusty conditions haven鈥檛 made for an easy watch.
Losing captain Haseeb Hameed in the first over wasn鈥檛 part of the Notts script and although Ben Slater and New Zealander Will Young hung around for an hour, the hosts struck back with Lewis Gregory dismissing them both.
Joe Clarke has made centuries in the first innings of the opening two rounds of the Championship and has settled into his work already, with lunch interrupting his progression to 11 not out.

Both sides will have wanted to bowl first here. The pitch has more of a greenish tinge to it than the one against Kent last week and with a stiffish breeze and a bit of cloud around the bowling conditions look good.
But despite this Wells and Jennings started well with the former lofting Porter for a six which had Simon Harmer bunking over a garden fence to ask for the ball back.
A change in bowling did the trick with Shane Snater dismissing both the openers in quick order to just about make it Essex鈥檚 morning.
Lunch came just in time as a shower arrived.
