Is it true you make the wee animals run on treadmills to turn the light at night?
DM from Lewis
it must be amazing living there, i'd love to have your views out over the minch. we got some lovely pictures of the total eclipse of the sun from there a few years ago... :-)

Welcome aboard from a fellow recent arrival. And how timely, for I'm the one who lamented the lack of a cattery. I was planning on investigating Tiumpanhead Lighthouse this weekend!

Take a sleeping bag and a flask just in case you don't make it home in a wunner...

Thank you for your comments. The animals are on strike and refusing to run in this wet weather. They are all tucked up with the heating on and thinking we are mad to go out!

The way to get the cats to run on treadmills is to put a vole in a cage with a treadmill. The vole slogs away, and the cats run after them. C'est la vie. And don't tell Arnish about it.

Living in a lighthouse! How wonderful!

I cut myself off last time - can we have some pics of the lighthouse please? And of the animals? Lovely to read your blog, thank you.

See that mjc? If I ever meet him I won't know whether to coil myself around his legs or sink my claws in...of course I could combine the two...

Wonder if there will be a Butt of Lewis Lighthouse blogger on here. Anyway, good to hear from Tiumpan Head, one of my fave places in Lewis. Good luck!
