21 months along

Well, here goes. First time at this having been reading other blogs and thinking what am I missing out on. We have been here 21 months this month and not a dat goes by when we don't feel so very lucky and blessed to be here. To drive to and from work without having to sit in traffic jams is sheer bliss. To watch the sea with its many different faces is a joy. The sunsets, cloud patterns, colours and magical light makes me feel glad to be alive. Life is definitely good. Our house is coming together slowly - having bought a semiderelict house two years ago, there is always more work to be done. It had more water inside than out when we arrived so living in a caravan was the only option. The house is now watertight and is recognisable as a home once more. Progress is slow but steady and we are happy which is the main thing. Will leave it at that for a first post to see how it goes. Hope life is treating others kindly. Take care.

Hello Galson Girl, how nice to hear from another happy island resident. I expect Fred's blog has been of interest to you as he did something very similar (but without the caravan!). Continue enjoying your peaceful life with beautiful scenery! And keep on posting... Good luck.

Hello GG, nice to hear from you. Glad you have the water on the outside now. Look forward to hearing how things are going.

thelovelyOutlander from does everyone in Lewis blog?

Hi Galson Girl ... interesting to read your blog. We're in a similar position, we've bought our land in Shetland and are around 8 months from moving up -lock stock & barrell as they say :-) ... ; like you to a caravan first until we're built. Can't wait - exchanging the Manchester M60 at twilight for the Northern Lights, can't come soon enough! good luck with your project , Sarah
