Barney from Swithiod feeling dense

Are you sure it was water that was flowing in the wee small hours?

Flying Cat from Oh c'mon, call this a blog??

Having watched the tides through the Kyles I would have thought that a tidal turbine similar to the one currently being trialled in Orkney, at the Falls of Warness, would be a possibility. No need to build a dam or causeway the whole structure is free standing on the sea bed. The main problem with crossing the Kyles, or any where near by, using a fixed link is the requirement to protect the rights of navigation. That is why the current bridge is so high, ships have to be able to navigate it at high water.

It won't happen because all the subsidies go to the Skye windfarms and a good wad of cash to unscrupulous land owners. It's a good idea though and is the best technical method for so called renewable energy.
