Weather Warning!

It was a really stomy here last night.







My mother-in-low got bad damages. oh dear.





A tree complete down near charch. (near pond - should say near shead)





Some branches down in Toberonochy.

I hope no more gail here. ....

I felt it was worse than 2002 Jan. Do you remember? In Toberonochy, a big tree down and blocked road. It was a my first experience bad gail in here... Telephone cable cut and stoped over a month.... during that time, my father got heart attack. oh dear.... But, he still alive. hahaha.

that looks real nasty,over here just before xmas there was an earthquake in gisbourne,where we go this weekend its only two hours away from her but is 6.8 on the richter scale--i keep forgetting nz is a very volcanic place especially north island--there is still one volcano in permenent activity--white island in the baay of plenty,which i've flown over in a helico--very scary hope things quiten down for you on luing

These are really scary pictures, OG. What are all the stones in pics 2 and 3? Is it a collapsed wall? And that tree looks like quite a big one, although its root system is fairly small. Hope things have calmed down a bit by now! It's pouring with rain here at the moment.

Do you know OG some of those fallen branches are bigger than most of my trees and they're all at least 12 years old...not that I'd want one falling on me just the same! The beach trying to get into the garden is quite scary!

Pic. 5 down: no root on that tree! Looks as flat an apple (or mango, or blueberry) pancake with all the fruit bits taken out. I am surprised it did not blow away with the first whiff. Is there a hard pan (soil not culinary nomenclature) on Luing?
