Snow, sun and…

a rainbow on Harris, I went from ness to leverburg and back again Tuesday, as the ness bus went over Barvas moor and I saw the snow I wondered if I had chosen the right day, the day was calm, the sun came out, it was a beautiful day to visit harris and I was pleased I had my camera with me, except for the leverburgh photos they were taken on a moving bus through a dirty window,

In your third pic. there is the house that I stayed in for a few months many moons ago one summer. It was great waking up with the waves just outside your door. The best time of my life was there, it's fantastic, thank you for showing the pics. IT

fc, the picnic table is at the car park for those hardy lads and lasses who climb the clisham, whilst us more tender folk just enjoy seeing the clisham,

Surely building it out of wood was a bit shortsighted? One flying sparkie and the thing's a barbecue.

What I want to know is: WHO is the clisham? Surely not the slight elevation in the picture? The picnic table/gazebo is made out of bulk wood so that the natives don't have to go far to chop down kindling for the fire.

FC, we're talking about Harris for goodness sake, when would the wood ever be dry enough for a barbecue?

believe me mjc, the Clisham is not a slight elevation and makes for a very brisk climb indeed, much better to drive. (by the by wasn't the Brockenspectre taken on the Clisham?)

Point taken, Jas. I just checked Wikipedia, which gives various routes. Perhaps it would be worth doing it in conjunction with an exploratory walk to Molinginish.
