Did you get a smoker or meat dryer? I would hope your impulse buy is related to your meat slicer, and not totally random/unrelated ... Will we have to wait till after Christmas to find out what the mystery buy is? Oh, a bread maker is it? To provide you with freshly cut and home baked corned beef on rye?
mjc from NM,USA
I don't do brake fluid Tws, it brings me up short.

Hi mjc, Impulse buy was completely random and completely not food related. We have a home made smoker, except it fell off the barn wall, and haven't thought about a dryer. The bread maker we gave away after we read 'Bread Matters' and now we have pots of starter in the fridge instead of using dried yeast. And if you knew how yeast was grown you wouldn't eat it either.

MJC: why "next to cheapside"?
carol from over her
I didn't like to ask. I thought it must be one of these obscure London references...
Flying Cat from Night's Bridge
Cheapside: reference to a historically poorer London neighborhood on the East end, and thus on to Cockney language and the preponderance of the down and out folks on those transport trips to Australia. It is not by accident that Australian sounds so down south homey.

Just reading about your book club comments next reading should be 'The Thirteen Moons' a recent answer to one of the questions at the Coll Association quiz night but it is a great read and could beat Dick Francis any day

I imagine thirteen moons is a fairly common occurrence on board footie supporters' buses.

Are you referring to the Stromness FC fans? # By the way, do Stromnessians go to Kirkwall to encourage the Ba mayhem, or is it all infra dig.?
