- The largest living monkey in the world – about as heavy as a ten year old child.
- Most colourful monkey on the planet, even remarked as such by Charles Darwin in 1871.
- The brighter the face, the more dominant the male.
- Live in some of the largest groups of any primate, once recorded at 1350 – a measurement taken when they crossed the road.
- Canines are nearly 7cm long!
