There isn't much Ellie Taylor hasn't turned her hand to, but now she's giving dancing a whirl as she joins the Strictly family for 2022!

Born in Brentwood, Ellie first got a touch of life in front of the camera when she was scouted as a model, starring in campaigns for big clothing and beauty brands. She soon stepped away from the flashing lights, bagging a corporate events job and trying stand-up comedy on the side as a hobby.

It was comedy competition Show Me The Funny in 2011 that changed Ellie's whole trajectory, seeing her make the semi-final and go on to to snap up a presenting role on 成人快手 Three's Snog, Marry, Avoid. Then Edinburgh Fringe came calling in 2014 and 2016, where she debuted her her stand-up shows Elliementary and Infidelliety to adoring crowds, repeating her success in 2017 with her This Guy set. Ellie's rave reviews saw her tour the latter show across the UK well into 2018, then in 2019 she became one of just five UK-based comedians to star in Netflix series Comedians of the World. Her touring continued that same year as she performed her show Don't Got This across the country.

On top of all of this success, Ellie also hosted the first episode of the 14th series of Live At The Apollo in 2018, which she cites as one of her career highlights, and became a household name as part of satirical comedy series The Mash Report. Clips of her delivering tongue-in-cheek headlines as newsreader Susan Treharne have since been shared and seen by millions across the world.

She's also presented TV shows The Great Pottery Throw Down and Let's Make A Love Scene, hosted a Heart FM radio show, acted in hit shows Family Tree, Sick Note, Brotherhood, The Lodge, Plebs and, most recently, Ted Lasso.
