Exile by Basanta Kumar Kar

Born, potentially divine,

a normal human being

never reshaped my transgender

to be scapegoat for antenatal order

gulping poison perennial.

Laxmipuri Kheri to Delhi-Gaziabad border

I miss my village, my life, farewell tears of my mother

a self exile inflicted

to escape from anger, sorrow and nightmare

be lost, unnoticed and invisible

save from caricature and sattire

this metro is better.

Birth, neighbors conspire to finish

growth, accidents, burns I attempt to life

death plays hide and seek

unsafe unwanted touch

acquired immune deficiency virus I can not fight

furious, I cry to console

cult reconnects network

I reconnect people positive

solidarity is strength,

I do empathize.

I colour lips, eye lids

music outspread, dance and sing

new born takes blessings

smile brings crowd

sorrow distances

I smile being crowded in crowd

eye ball dries tears

sorrow embedded mother's love haunts

live to survive

live each day as it comes

suffer to expiate sin for salvation.

(This is the story of Bulbul an eunuch in Kalandhar Colony at Delhi Gaziabad border)
