Taylor Alison Swift is an American musician and songwriter, born in Pennsylvania on 13 December 1989.

Swift has been active within the music industry since 2003. She started her career as a young country/pop musician at age 14, signing with Big Machine Records 鈥 her debut self-titled album Taylor Swift was released the following year.

As Swift鈥檚 career progressed, she left the country genre for a broader pop sound, with 2014鈥檚 1989 featured synth-heavy hits like Style, Shake It Off and Bad Blood.

Swift has been a famous musician since the start of her career, but what shot her further into the spotlight was the public copyright battle with music manager Scooter Braun, who bought her old record company, Big Machine Records.

This led to Swift losing the rights to her master recordings, which led the star to begin re-recording her first six albums - four of which have been released so far.

The Eras Tour started in March 2023 and is expected to become the highest grossing tour in music history, making Swift a billionaire.

The US star who was once known for her prolific scathing songwriting about ex-boyfriends like Joe Jonas, John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal in her music, has now arguably become the world鈥檚 largest music superstar who has connected with a worldwide audience, to the extent she was Time magazine鈥檚 Person of the Year in 2023.

Ellie Peach is a nurse from Australia who travelled all the way to Edinburgh to see Taylor on her first show of her UK leg.

She has been working overtime in emergency wards to earn extra money to buy the tickets. On Tuesday, she did a night shift and later on Wednesday she got on the plane to Scotland.

Speaking to 成人快手 Breakfast, she said: 鈥淚f all that overtime in emergency and working as a nurse doesn鈥檛 get me Taylor Swift tickets, what鈥檚 it worth you know. This is what it鈥檚 all about,鈥 she said.

Ellie saw the tour in Australia as well. Her show on Friday night will mean she鈥檚 seen Taylor 11 times.

鈥淚t鈥檚 the best night, everything you expect and more in my opinion. It鈥檚 the best night I鈥檝e had and I can鈥檛 wait to experience it again. I feel so lucky to experience it again."

After months of anticipation, the Eras tour finally lands in the UK.

Amazingly, tonight is only the second time Taylor has played in Scotland 鈥 the last time being on the 1989 tour back in 2015.

She returns an even bigger star than last time.

No pop star has achieved this level of cultural dominance since Michael Jackson and Madonna in the 1980s.

Taylor鈥檚 every move is documented, analysed and dissected. Her albums set sales records, her concerts register on the Richter scale, and her relationship with American Football star Travis Kelce gave the Super Bowl its highest-ever audience - even though she didn鈥檛 even play.

Demand for tickets in Edinburgh is sky-high.

Scalpers are charging up to 拢3,000 for just one seat at tonight鈥檚 show, and fans who can鈥檛 get into Murrayfield Stadium are expected to gather outside for the chance just to hear her(in the US, this phenomenon was dubbed鈥淭aylor-gating鈥.)

The star is due on stage around 7pm tonight. Stay with us as the action unfolds.
