Retail therapy

Julie Howatson-Broster Julie Howatson-Broster | 18:15 UK time, Monday, 16 June 2008

Just got back from having my `roots` done in a lovely hair salon in Chester. I must admit, this is a monthly ritual for me and I thoroughly enjoy the experience.

I book the whole day off work, take my diary with me and relax for two hours planning my life with no interruptions. I then sneak around Chester for a little lunch and retail therapy, though I'm spending less on clothes these days due to the fact that my wardrobes are already bursting at the hinges.

Running two businesses does mean I have the telephone ringing constantly with vast amounts of emails coming through on a daily basis, so escaping to the hair salon is pure bliss!

My hair has always played an important part in my life. I change the colour and style on a regular basis and my husband has even commented before now that it`s like waking up to a different wife every month (in his dreams!) I love experimenting with various styles and make-up and it`s probably something to do with my character and personality.
