Cuts, they can't produce the goods with the money they have.
From what seems to be a total reliance on the tabloid press for their AM reporting output reusing inappropriate headlines which mislead the viewer. Only later to get their act together to provide a more balanced view of the mornings or previous days events. Looks to me like the reporters and their camera crews don’t hit the street until 1100 hrs.
Case in point Ian Blair - if I was interested in the biased press reports (with other agenda) from the likes of the Daily Mail I’ll buy the paper, if I want to know what the uninformed opinion of an unrepresentative portion of the public I switch to Sky and get the result of one of their interactive votes. But I want is the facts supported by informed comment. Quite frankly the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ News team just aren’t providing the basics.
There seems to be no logic in the allocation of funds for stories, Is it really necessary to send reporters out to the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Office to stand in front of a faceless building to report on Byrnes' use of a mobile phone while driving when the best we can do on the De Menezes case is attack Blair (Ian) with unconnected reiterations of previous failures one of which was reacting properly to information received and misrepresenting this as a "botched operation"
The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ should apply to the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Office for additional funding - being Judge Jury AND Executioner must be worth something.
Why is the Newswatch site so hard to find? Are you scared that someone might actually start using the service?
www.bbc.co.uk/newswatch returns a page page saying "Forbidden"! Need I say more??
why is there no joined up thinking by the people who produce the news? Items seem to be in complete isolation from others dealing with the same issue. For instance, yesyerday's item about children with ADHD (breakfast)completely ignored the issue of diet which had been shown time and again has a huge effect and has been covered many times. I know it isn't possible to cover every aspect of a subject but often in cases like this surely it could have been mentioned.
