Yes the iPlayer will have an effect on commercial rivals because the commercial rivals are not giving customers want they want.

People dislike DRM, lack of portability, restriction of choice about what to watch, where and when. Not to mention value for money.

Why do have have to wait months to see a US TV show in the UK, or wait for the DVD release of a movie. It should be our choice whether to watch a movie at home or at the cinema. It's no wonder people use the Internet to download TV and films because the commercial companies don't give us the choice until they think they have filled their pockets.

I hope the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ ignores Ofcom and gives the license payers access to the programmes they have already paid for. Please don't follow the example of Channel 4's 4OD service. Very poor picture quality, restrictive licensing, and then use my paid-for ISP bandwidth to redistribute content to others via P2P.

Sounds like the MPAA and RIAA have got to Ofcom to protect their market.

It is quite noticable that the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ is strongly biased to the Blair Government in a very slick way.

Some negative stories are covered to give the appearance of fair play but, being an avid news watcher, the difference in coverate between ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ TIN and sky news is quite remarkable.

It is a shame that an orgaisation that did have such a good reputation has gone down this path.

It will take years to re establish its credentials
