Some of our favourite stories for week 7

Tris Cotterill | 16:22 UK time, Tuesday, 4 May 2010

Hope you all had a good bank holiday? While you were out in the sun (or more likely, the rain) Team Good News have been in the office all weekend getting ready for show 7.

Thanks for all your suggestions for stories, these are some of our favourites from the last 7 days.

From Jamie Rhymer
At Good News we are all about learning new things and from this story I learnt the amazing new word 'Arschbomben'. Read the full story about why a German 74 year old has been banned from a local swimming pool at

From Lex Prospicit
I think this story is really cool. A kid with liver cancer got to be a superhero for a day. Watch the clip at

From shariar33
Ok, is it too much to have two superhero stories in one day? No, of course not! This is a pretty funny way to be caught stealing. Read the full story at

    Russ,

On one of your last shows you had a football freestyler called John Farnworth. He claimed that he was the best football freestlyer in the world and the best in the UK. Which hes not. A very good friend of mine who i go college with is one of the best football freestyler in the world coming 9th in the world championships about a week ago in south africa. Just wondering, do you comfirm this claims made by these people? or do you take their word for it? My friend Andrew Henderson is the guy who came 9th in the world champs just to prove my mate is real heres his link to his promo video on youtube have a look.

    Hi Russell,

I've just been watching the celebrity come dine with me featuring Ulrika Jonsson. She is interviewed after dinner at Mica Paris house and turns into a Klingon before your very eyes. Hilarious, if a little disturbing, so I thought it would be perfect for the show.

    Keep it up.

    Hi Russell!

I just stumbled across the story of James Harrison on cracked.com, here's a link to the article:
    (he's #5 in the list).

Basically he's a man with magic blood that's saved the lives of at least a bazillion babies (Daily Mail says it's 2 million. TWO MILLION BABIES!) who would otherwise have died from Rhesus disease. Not to be confused with the American footballer of the same name. Here's some Wikipedia to prove he is real:

    Happy times =)

  • Comment number 31.

hey ahhh something sad happened in the news paper it was in the Bolton news on April the 30th... this is an extract-strapline- thieves break windows, ransack building-and steal sweets. ''a nursery has been ransacked by 'despicable' thieves who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage-and then stole a hand full of children's sweets.''

they put a lot of emphasis on the sweet stealing!!! but how would they know if it was only a hand full?

OMG there's an app for nokia phone users where they personally record their own voices for the Ovi Maps Sat-Nav app whenever they need to use the sat-nav on the go. It's called Own Voice. Unfortunately I only found one video review on youtube.
Here's the link to the app itself:
You not only record your voice for the sat-nav but you can also share it! When recording, the on-screen instructions will tell you what to say but you can say the instruction in ANY way!
