Dear Computer based friends,

It’s Dave here, back with another one of those blog writing treats. It would appear that lady luck has fingered me as the chosen one to provide you with another exciting instalment of life behind the scenes of the Chris Moyles Show, and as I don’t know how to increase the video capacity on my phone to more than 21 seconds, I am sadly unable to follow up Aled with one of his lengthy hostage style video diaries. So, accept my apologies as we return to boring old typed text, for a mid week update of fun and rollocking frollocks.

Fatherhood is approaching me at speed like a large truck full of nappies, and it’s therefore quite weird writing this on the eve of such a major life change. I was about to say that the next time I write one of these little diary pieces, I’ll be a daddy, although in reality the regularity with which I swerve the blog roster, means that baby him or her will probably be fully potty trained and talking and stuff by the time you hear from me next. We break up for our July hols at the end of this week and Jayne’s due on the 30th which is right in the middle of our break, so it should all be very different upon our return. The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖs outside broadcast unit have also installed some clever boxes and wires in my spare room, so I can even do the show from home for a few days while I’m on maternity leave. Look forward possibly to live link ups involving some screaming, some dribbling and some toilet based accidents, and hopefully also some audio contributions from mini me as well, as the Chris Moyles Show returns for a new season.

In other news, I’m using this forum to call for a UK wide ban on the purchase of Rihanna’s stupid umbrella record. The met office would no doubt agree with me that rainfall and general crappy weather has increased a-lot-fold since the release of said single, and surely those that felt it necessary to buy it in such numbers to get it to the top of the charts have now had their fun, and can let us enjoy some better weather before the summer is officially over. I have nothing against Rihanna personally and wish her all the very best in the future, but for now the climactic links between her record and the weather we’re experiencing seem all too clear, and that’s why her airplay and chart success need to be terminated immediately probably. *

We talked about the Victoria Beckham coming to America programme this morning and how irritating and rubbish we found it. Surprisingly a lot of you came out in support of her and felt we were wrong. It made for a lively and interesting debate, and while we took onboard the passionate opinions of the Beckhamists amongst you, as instigators and adjudicators of the forum we decided to defend what we’d said originally and collectively agreed that the programme was in fact pish. It will be interesting to see whether ITV next week try and make David out to be as funny as his wife. Good luck David.

For now though, thank you to all of you that have wished me and Jayne luck with the imminent baby arrival, and to everybody that has sent in nappies and dummies and assorted baby things. It’s very kind of you, and is much appreciated by both of us. You’ll hopefully hear all about it very soon when we get back from our two week break, as Chris finally gets to meet his new little buddy…..baby Winston.

All the very best to Dave and Jayne for the immenent birth of their baby. Just for the record Dave, giving birth is the most amazing expereice ever! (although I did manage to draw blood from my partners hand during the process).

The song is, indeed, pish and has put a morbid feel over the whole of the UK with the crappy weather that has consequently followed. Can't we just pretend the song doesn't even exist, wiping it from all the playlists, putting something like Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini to number 1 in its place - that would be a lot more appropriate for this time of year.

Anyway, coincidences. Dave, your story would be amazing if coincidences weren't so ordinary. In and of themselves they're quite amazing but when you consider the thousands of potential events of your normal day that could turn into coincidences then multiply that over your lifetime it's billions of chances, so even with odds of a billion to one, you're going to have several. It's no coincidence we can all think of a few that have happened to us: picking up the phone and the person you were going to dial is on the line; bumping into a friend in a weird location; and so on.

Wouldn't it be a coincidence if Victoria Beckham was thinking the exact samne thing right now?
