Playing with Wii
So it seems I鈥檓 doing the blog again for a second day! As much as I love doing them (and you KNOW I do) I fear this may be more fuel to the "Aled鈥檚 ego is getting out of control fire!
Last night I played with Nintendo鈥檚 new console.
All the reviews I鈥檝e read about it are pretty much how I found it. It鈥檚 everything Nintendo鈥檚 about. The games have a cutesie appeal 鈥 the machine has a 鈥渕y first games console鈥 look to the graphics and it鈥檚 very easy to use.
The genius element IS the controller. What, at first seemed like a gimmick does in fact work brilliantly 鈥 the controller looks like a remote control. As you move it left and right so does the dot on the screen with amazing precision . It opens up a whole new way of playing computer tennis and my current favourite bowling!
Saying that though when you鈥檝e been spoilt playing the Xbox 360 and getting a sneaky play on the new PlayStation 3 it does feel strange taking the step back and using inferior graphics. They happily admit that鈥檚 not it鈥檚 point 鈥 and to test the theory I鈥檓 off to Aberystwyth this weekend to see mum and dad 鈥 I鈥檒l be trying them out on the Wii to see how they like it.

I thought I鈥檇 do a behind the scenes for you at Radio 1 but unfortunately there鈥檚 pretty much no-one here today! Jo鈥檚 in Ben鈥檚 living room with Noel Gallagher (here鈥檚 Mikey in her studio 鈥 he was the one we were laughing at dancing on air this morning)
Here's poor Pingu as a cake who's about to be eaten! 
All of management are even away today.
So here鈥檚 a photo of Megan and Stu 鈥 two high powered radio producers (as you can see from the photo). Stu is the producer of The Chart Show and Megan produces Sara Cox.

Have a good weekend, next week on the show Dom meets another Hollywood A lister, Dave hits a big Radio 1 anniversry and Chris still won鈥檛 be playing as many songs as the music team would like.

Alright Aled, glad you're enjoying the Wee! It'll be a surpraise hit console when it launches here in the Uk soon. Unlike my 360, the Wee is all about playability and fun, which is where Nintendo have always had success in.
Just watch out for the wrist strap on that controller. There are enough pics cracked tv screens and disaster stories of the controller strap breaking during use sending the thing flying towards one's tv...

Pingu cake is so cute! Thanx for posting that. As always it's enjoyable to read your blog. And oh, can I say a few things about the smoking-ban law? I get the point Chris was saying. But I think the main purpose of the law is to protect people from second-hand smoke. Just learned in class that second-hand smoke is very bad for none-smoker's health. It's like 20 times or more harm than being in heavy traffic or something. So I think it's a fair law for everyone.
And can you remind Chris of his commitment with Ian Wright? Every time I watch MOTD I always wonder whether Chris goes excercising with Wrighty or not!
I've noticed that recently (at least this week!) there's no bashing about your ego Aled! It's good because we all know you're just doing what you can for us in the listeners' land ;)

Honestly what do you think of Wii. it looks ok but im not sure?
could you let chris know that my friend crashed her car last year whilst laughing at what chris was saying. (She spent a few days in hospital and her car was a wright off)
