I've heard Will Ferrell is very funny...

Hello to all you blog readers and greetings on a Tuesday.

Once again I'm blogging to you from my desk at Radio 1 HQ. I did think I'd be blogging from home today, but my morning went a bit wrong.

After the show we were going to see a preview screening of the new Will Ferrell film. He's coming on the show on Tuesday! Chris, Dave, Carrie and I trundled off to a not so posh screening place in fancy Soho, which is in the middle of London town. We were told to get there for 11am. Usually, we're running late for these things, but for once we were on time. Typical…we were on time and the film wasn't there. So we waited and waited and waited…I made a few phone calls…Chris and Dave were getting bored…We waited a bit more and in the end it didn't happen.

I was expecting to write a blog from home (as I was going to go straight back after the film) and tell you all about it, but I can't. Well, I suppose I could make it up. I've heard Will Ferrell is very funny, so I'm sure it is good. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt!

So here I am back in the office sitting next to Aled who is still worrying about flying on Friday. If you heard the show this morning he's off to New York for late birthday celebrations at the weekend. He's not a good flier at the best of times, but he's really not looking forward to it. I'm quite a good flier, but I know it does get to some people, so I'm trying to be sympathetic. If you have any advice do let us know. Advice on flying I mean!

Right well, sorry this is quite a short blog today. I have things to do and lots of stuff to set up for the show.

Have a nice day now.

Will Ferrell is not hilarious. He's has some good movie scripts given to him recently but see his lame effort in 'Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back' or SNL back issues for a different perspective.

Tell Aled that if he's worried about being a victim of a terror attack then know this fact: since 1960 more Americans have been killed by lightning than by terrorists.

Hope this helps.

Some old kodgers in the car next to me on the M6 must of thought i was some kind of psychopath as it looked as thought i was laughing at myself!

Having flown many times, I have lost any fear. Actually, come to think of it, I never had any fear. I used to get car sick as a child, but when I started long-distance flying the car-sickness stopped.

Why is it that some people start to turn green at the very thought of being airborne? It's not like we have encountered flight before in our evolutionary development. Unless archaeologists are missing something. To find out more about the subject, I looked up 'fear of flying' on a book website. A book with this very name turned up, written by someone called Erica Jong.

I have to say that on reading the book I was....disappointed. It wasn't at all a self-help manul for people who hurl into paper bags when the wings start to flap under turbulent conditions. As this is a family-friendly website I won't go into details. Suffice to say that it was rather more....racy than I expected.

Hi Rachel,

I thought i'd post a message as i think i'm developing an unhealthy obsession with the show, and chris most importantly. is it wrong to find someone so funny and get me through my morning at work that i actually fancy them?! have u found this working alongside the gorgeous chris?!
With regards to poor Aled's flight concerns, i'd advise continually going to the back of the plane to get more free drinks and hook up with that guy a few rows behind that's been giving u the eye... not that it's happened to me.
Love the show greatly

why don't you just knock him out like they used to with Mr T in the A Team. That seamed to work, and you wouldn't need to worry about his temper, Aled isn't big and black, at least not the last time i looked

Just listening to the Monday show "ON-LINE" and it's just class. Your show cannot be rivalled.

I listen to the Today FM Breakfast show every morning here in Dublin, have done for the last six years, and I can tell they're now trying to be more like your show, but it's just not working!!!

Keep up the good work!

Awww give Aled a big hug. I'm sure the fact that he gets to celebrate his birthday in NY will make up for the flights and it'll all be fine.

Shame you didn't get to see the movie though.
