Kanye West ft. Daft Punk - 'Stronger'

Kanye WestA few things to bear in mind before you watch Stronger. First of all, Kanye’s admitted that his version isn’t as good as the Daft Punk track that it samples*, but there’s obviously no hard feelings because they’re in the video. Secondly, those sunglasses took three months, THREE LONG MONTHS, to source.

Thirdly, the video also took three months to complete, probably because Mr West was repeatedly slipping out to track down the only pair of oversized sunnies that Paris Hilton doesn’t already own (in the end, he found them in the city she's named after, fashion fans).

Fourthly, it features Kanye in his pants. Figures aren't yet forthcoming on how many stylists were sacked in the sourcing of these, but however many it was, it was probably worth it.

And finally, this song is a message to the haters. This is a man who writes his lyrics in the royal ‘we’. And has god AND robots on his side. So, just LEAVE HIM ALONE, OK, cos Mum says that thing about ‘sticks and stones’...and anyway, he’s telling if you pick on him again, alright?

*He’s right, but that doesn’t mean it’s not nice to have it gift-wrapped.

This song is ace, mind you the Daft Punk version is just as good, Kanye West combines his style with it and it really does work well. I'm not really into this type of music much but this is very good.

I really like this song which is really weird, cos I don't usually like stuff like this. I have been in a weird mood recently. The sort that makes me want to go to football matches with people I hate (usually, anyway). At least i haven't changed that much. I still hate Rihanna and Fergie, I haven't stopped liking myspace and i still get really happy when fall out boy, paramore, elliot minor, mcr or w/e else i like comes on the tv/radio. Yay.

I usually dsilike rappers, but I've always liked Kanye West's songs. The fact he doesn't muble along like 50 Cent to some backing track that every other rapper uses makes it more interesting. Kanye West seems to do something really different.

I like this song as it is different to the other songs that have come out this summer. It has it's own style and has made to the top charts without copying other songs. The video feels futuristic. Songs with their own style are great. So I like this song.

Must agree that this is a top tune. Not into Kanye West really but love Daft Punk, not sure which planet AIMEE is from, not copied? No just sampleda and the difference is? Can any other bands/musicians make actually their own song without covering or sampling another tune?
