'The Magic Box' by Kit Wright (poem only)
Description
Kit Wright reads his poem 鈥楾he Magic Box鈥 to a group of children. The poem describes a list of magical moments, experiences and fantastic events which the poet says he will put in 鈥榯he magic box鈥.
Classroom Ideas
Students could listen to 鈥楾he Magic Box鈥 and discuss why the poet has chosen the things he has. Students could also create short stories and illustrations to describe the Magic Box and where it came from. They could create their own lists of experiences, moments and fantasy events to store in the Magic Box and use these as the basis for their own Magic Box poem.
