An animated movie trailer about a teenage girl who finds out about an online talent competition to become the lead singer in a band via social media. First of all, she fills in her profile on the competition form, including details about her date of birth and where she comes from. Eventually, she comes up with a winning formula after finding inspiration for her song from her twin brother’s annoying habits.

Create a gap-fill exercise based on the script, and ask pupils to replace the missing words from a selection of vocabulary provided. For more able pupils, provide an excess of words to make the task more challenging. Pupils could then create a profile for Facebook or similar online media. More able pupils could attempt to come up with the next set of song lyrics for the character’s competition entry.
