Edwin Congreave

I'm honoured to be part of this initiative to engage a new generation with the possibilities of environmental regeneration. We need all hands on deck to turn this around.
Our Regenerators Hall of Fame judge Edwin Congreave

Edwin Congreave is an environmentalist and former keyboard player of award-winning British rock band Foals. In 2021 he made the decision to leave the band to study economics at Cambridge University, to help in the fight against climate change. It might not seem like the conventional route of study for an environmentalist, but Edwin strongly believes that economics is key to reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and safeguarding the planet. In recent years the band had taken big steps towards making touring more sustainable and it鈥檚 something that Edwin remains passionate about. He advocates for more eco-conscious music festivals that produce less waste and encourages other touring artists to use public transport, rather than flying, as much as possible.

I cannot wait to learn from our nominees and discover all the ways they are responding to the climate and nature crisis. The best way to deal with it all is to be involved and young people seem to understand that. I'm expecting great ideas and creative thinking!
