The authorities in Mozambique have come up with a novel way to cut the cost of feeding the country's prisoners.
Farms have been established at two of the biggest jails which, it is hoped, will also improve the health of the inmates.
Mozambique's prison population is more than 15,000, with most being kept in overcrowded cells with little or no sanitation and few opportunities for outdoor exercise.
Our reporter in Maputo, Jose Tembe has been along to see how the experiment was going.
