About this interview
JANE: You had to go to Cornaig Beach for the lugworms at five in the morning, but the worst job in flounder fishing was when they came in with the flounders, the nets then had to be sorted....they'd to be cleaned and you would be sitting on a fish box, that's what we called it and my mother was with me and we'd take the lugworms off the hooks, and I would hide the lugworms because I thought it was excellent food for the cats!! Til I found out differently...but then when you would sort out the nets, there was a special way of putting them back in the baskets, you had to coil them, isn't that what it was, and then you left them out on a low house rooftop so that they would dry in the sun!
