Preparing for the new exhibition成人快手 Tees has been invited backstage at MIMA to find out what goes on in the eleven days where the gallery shuts down to change exhibitions. After seeing the hard work that goes into taking down an exhibition, it's small wonder that the staff aren't on the verge of tears when given the task of making good the walls, and preparing for the new exhibition to turn up. But the staff at MIMA have that tight schedule to keep, and so they soldier on. Find out about taking down the previous exhibition here:The walls have all been filled, damages repaired, and a fresh coat of gleaming white paint has been layered over the previous coat, once again making the galleries look fresh and new. In the Cube gallery the floors are being cleaned as the art work is brought in in crates, whilst in the surrounding gallery space more mess is being made. A room within a room is being created specifically for the next exhibit, and one huge wall is being painted in preparation for an artist to do his work directly on to it. Gavin Delahunty, Curator of Fine Art explains more: "We're half way through painting one of the walls in a grey green colour scientifically known as CZX37, a colour that the artist, Jan Albers, has specifically chosen for MIMA. "The artist has mixed this colour on a palette, very much like a traditional artist, and then had it scanned so that we can mass produce that colour. "Once the technicians have finished painting this wall, Jan will arrive and hand draw directly on to the paint in what will be a massive wall drawing about fifteen metres by six metres high." last updated: 27/02/2009 at 13:07 SEE ALSO
