    Middlesbrough 0-2 Stoke

What a week for Alex Neil who has guided his Stoke side to a third win in a week since returning from the international break.

First-half goals from Michael Rose and Mehdi Leris proved enough to end Middlesbrough’s seven-game winning run and spoil Michael Carrick’s 50th game in charge.

And the two-goal winning margin did not flatter the Potters who appear to have clicked into gear after a stuttering start to the campaign.

A first win away to Middlesbrough since August 1997 moves Stoke up to 11th, a point and place below their opponents.
