We're just going to catch our collective breath momentarily.

    Headlines coming right up.

    Burnley 3-3 Blackpool

Phew. That had everything including eight minutes of added time.

Six goals, two dismissals, and a thrilling comeback by the away side.

Burnley were excellent first-half in racing into a 3-1 lead but ever since the opening day win with Huddersfield, have struggled to maintain their grip of games after the break.

Blackpool were full of spark once they got a foothold, and might even have pinched the win themselves.

    Honours even though, in Lancashire.

    Birmingham 0-1 Wigan

What a special afternoon for Wigan Athletic.

They hang on for three huge points, they played nearly 80 minutes with 10 men, Charlie Wyke is back in football at competitive level after all his cardiac arrest fears and goalkeeper Jamie Jones must be man of the match.

Nathan Broadhead's goal was the difference late on, already looking a smart signing from Everton.

For Birmingham, their lack of creativity will be of some concern at times to John Eustace. However, Jones was in fine form in the Wigan goal.

Stoke fans are booing and leaving in their droves. They had a terrific first half but they just couldn't get a goal.

As soon as Sunderland scored they never looked back. They looked comfortable and poised.

The Black Cats the much better side overall.

Stoke have problems ... problems with capital letters!

Stoke threw a bit at it after the break but couldn't snatch a leveller and Alex Neil's side keep motoring on, having got back to the second-tier.

    Reading celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Superb performance from Reading, who back up their midweek demolition of Blackburn with a hard-earned victory at home over promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough.

The difference came in the first-half when Tyrese Fornah belted a low drive beyond Zach Steffen.

It was the only goal of a game in which both sides had chances, and keeps the Royals' home record flying.

Boro meanwhile will rue their lack of punch, despite several changes off the bench during the game.
