    League One update

Leaders Lincoln passed up the chance to level against fellow promotion hopefuls Doncaster at Sincil Bank.

Jorge Grant made his way into the Rovers box and tumbled under a challenge.

Grant picks himself up and takes the kick himself but his spot kick is read by Ellery Balcombe. Saved. Still they trail 1-0.

AFC Wimbledon trail MK Dons, a goal that will hurt every original Don to the core. It's Matt O'Riley who gets it to give the Buckinghamshire visitors the lead at the new Plough Lane.

The Terriers are turning the screw and looking to get back in front early in this second period.

They can sense blood, but can they capitalise while on top?

GOAL: Brentford 4-2 Wycombepublished at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2021

    Ivan Toney pen (56 mins)

Cool as you like, Ivan Toney slots his spot-kick into the bottom right-hand corner.

That ends his seven-game goal drought and chalks up his 17th goal of the season.

Will that finally end Wycombe's brave challenge and secure all three points for the Bees?

  6. PENALTY to Brentfordpublished at 16:18 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2021

    Brentford 3-2 Wycombe

Sergi Canos is caught by Fred Onyedinma as the winger looks to clear the ball, and Brentford have a chance to put some daylight between them and the visitors.

It's a bit soft. The Chairboys won't be happy with that one.

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Preston

The Owls will be looking to build on that first half lead given to them just before the break by Liam Palmer.

Preston, sitting in mid-table, need someone to step up and give them a boost. A win could move them up to eighth today.

Best chance of the second half so far in south Wales falls to the hosts.

Brentford take the lead for a third time.

The Wycombe defence stands off Ivan Toney on the edge of the area and the striker slips the ball to Tariqe Fosu inside the box.

Fosu shoots across goal and into the bottom left-hand corner for his second goal of the game.

Can the Bees hang on to their lead this time?

Shrewsbury boss Steve Cotterill will be enjoying the sight of his side leading high-fliers Peterborough in League One, as he recovers from Covid away from the club, Harry Chapman with a debut opener.

Bradford regain the lead at Valley Parade against Barrow, leading 2-1 thanks to Callum Cooke's effort.

    Cardiff 0-1 Millwall

    What response can Cardiff find?

Mick McCarthy ended a six-match winless streak with a point at Barnsley in his first game in charge in midweek.

But the Bluebirds have only won one of their past eight in the league.

Barnsley have enjoyed some decent chances at the City Ground.

Callum Brittain snapped wide after Forest fail to fully clear, and then Herbie Kane works Brice Samba with a thunderous volley.

    No breakthrough as yet though.

    Blackburn 0-0 Luton

Back underway at Ewood and Adam Armstrong almost scores with the first meaningful action, forcing Simon Sluga into a fine save.

Let's hope that is a sign of better things to come as weren't treated to a lot of memorable attacking play in the opening 45.

In fact, there were no shots on target in the first half – a rarity in particular for Blackburn who are the league’s joint-highest goal scorers.

    Must do better lads.

It's transfer deadline day on Monday (as I'm sure you know), with many EFL clubs looking to add to their ranks for a congested second half of the campaign.

But not Big Mick. The new Cardiff boss reckons he'll have a quiet one - although that may change if the Bluebirds lose against Millwall.

Either way, we'll bring you every deal involving EFL clubs before (and, no doubt, after) the 23:00 GMT deadline passes.

'I'll probably be in bed by deadline time'

Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy is not expecting a busy transfer deadline day on Monday.
