Kent have recovered well after the early loss of Ollie Robinson, with Ben Compton and Daniel Bell-Drummond posting a 50 partnership.
Compton - who seems to have spent all summer at the wicket - is looking predictably solid on 17 not out.
Bell-Drummond has been going about his business more briskly, with five fours in his undefeated 31. The home side are still a long way behind Gloucestershire - 377, to be precise.
Smith c Davies v Aldridge 6 (Somerset 180 v Surrey 170-3)
Kasey Aldridge grabs his maiden first-class wicket with a ball that climbs on Jamie Smith and the batter can only fend it behind.
Surrey are three down now, but only 10 runs behind as Will Jacks makes his way to the middle.
Organ lbw b Thompson 11 (Hants 12-2 v Yorkshire 428)
It gets even better for Yorkshire...
Felix Organ plays all around a straight one from Jordan Thompson and is sent packing.
James Vince joins Nick Gubbins in the middle. Two very experienced campaigners.
Somerset 180 v Surrey 159-2
That's a century for Rory Burns! The Surrey skipper gets there just after lunch by clipping Peter Siddle for a single.
It's Burns' 20th first-class hundred for his county and this one comes off 203 balls, including 13 fours and a six.

Jamie Overton's fiery fast bowling yesterday afternoon is still having its effect on this game, with his twin brother, Craig, failing a Jamie-induced concussion test this morning, and being replaced by Marchant de Lange.
Overton C was not the only absentee this morning, as Surrey's Hashim Amla was feeling unwell, and replaced by Ben Geddes. Young Ben batted nicely, adding 88 with his captain Rory Burns before being caught in the slips off a de Lange thunderbolt.
As for Burns, he's been progressing smoothly towards what seems an inevitable century in his own idiosyncratic way.

The Edgbaston pitch appears to be providing an even contest between bat and ball and neither side can yet be said to have a commanding position in the game.
After the early loss of Keaton Jennings, Lancashire will be happy enough to have got to lunch only two wickets down.
But Warwickshire's bowlers have, for the most part, maintained some control and Liam Norwell has found with some zip and carry on his return from injury.
He claimed the wicket of Josh Bohannon with a quick delivery which Will Rhodes did well to cling onto at third slip.
Glamorgan 5-1 v Sussex 376 - lunch

A very good morning for the visitors and particularly 20-year-old Oli Carter from Eastbourne. who was eventually the last man out for a career-best 185.
Sussex added a rapid 131 this morning in 23.4 overs, Carter receiving solid support from both Henry Crocombe and Jack Brooks.
Glamorgan have however been hindered by the withdrawal from the game of Michael Hogan with Covid.
To further add to Sussex’s good day Sean Hunt then has Glamorgan skipper David Lloyd caught behind on the stroke of lunch
Sussex have failed to win in their previous 18 Championship matches, the last being over a year ago here in Cardiff, could this be the week they end that barren run?

Yorkshire are all out for 428 as Brad Wheal bowls last man Steven Patterson.
Fast bowler Wheal ends with 4-59 having taken the final four wickets.
A very good first-innings total from the visitors.

22-year-old Ben Gibbon eventually ended the long stay at the crease of 22-year-old debutant Rachin Ravindra when he had him caught behind on 217.
The New Zealand opener faced 318 balls but still looked disappointed to be out, having apparently tickled one down the leg-side to the keeper. Unless he was disappointed because he didn't hit it!
He received a standing ovation as he left the field and the applause was rather loud. He is only here for the one match. I wonder if that plan may soon change?
Durham were 426-5 at the time and within minutes they were 429-7.
In the same over Gibbon also had Liam Trevaskis caught behind for a fifth-ball duck before Ned Eckersley was also caught behind for six in the next Gibbon over. Gareth Roderick the man with the glove work.
Geddes c Gregory b de Lange 21 (Somerset 180 v Surrey 144-2)
Marchant de Lange created the pressure with that string of maidens - and now he makes the breakthrough for Somerset!
Ben Geddes is the man to go, pushing at one outside off stump and Lewis Gregory takes a regulation catch at first slip.
Jamie Smith is out there to join Rory Burns, who's on 92.

Dominic Drakes snicks Brad Wheal behind attempting a pull shot and Ben Brown pulls off an excellent one-handed grab above his head to leave Yorkshire nine down.
Paceman Wheal now has 3-59.

The morning session has been excellent to watch, a hard-fought game on what looks like a good cricket pitch which has offered movement and bounce for the bowlers.
Batting hasn't been easy. Luke Wells has worked hard for his runs and the return of Liam Norwell back into the attack ends a half-century partnership with Josh Bohannon who was caught well in the slips by Will Rhodes.
Lancashire will be pleased if they can get to lunch just two wickets down.
Somerset 180 v Surrey 134-1
Still no wickets for Somerset this morning, but they have at least stemmed the flow of runs - and that's largely thanks to Marchant de Lange.
The big paceman wasn't even playing in the match until this morning, when he was summoned as a concussion sub for Craig Overton, but he's begun his spell with four straight maidens.
Rory Burns is just 12 short of a hundred, with Ben Geddes at the other end on 17.
