Cambridge have won three of their last four meetings with Wigan in all competitions (L1), more than they had in their previous 15 against the Latics (W2 D8 L5).

This is the first ever FA Cup meeting between Cambridge and Wigan. The Latics are winless in their last four visits to the U’s in all competitions (D2 L2), already losing 2-0 in League One this season.

Cambridge are looking to reach the FA Cup third round in consecutive seasons (when playing outside the top two tiers) for the first time since a run of three between 1988-89 and 1990-91.

Wigan have won their last three away games in the FA Cup by an aggregate score of 5-0. They last won more consecutively on the road between January 2013 and March 2014 (7), during which time they won the trophy.
