In India, cricket is more than just a game. It is a passion or even an obsession. Millions of youngsters dream of playing for India. It鈥檚 a dream which only one in every 100 million realises.
Victory is the story of a father, Ram, who saw such an impossible dream for his son, Vijay Shekhawat.

Vijay who hails from the small town of Jaisalmer, becomes India's latest batting sensation making him a superstar.
But the glamour and glitz of this very status makes Vijay stray from his true cricket profession.
This leads to a loss of focus and a drop in his performance. By the time Vijay realises the error of his ways, it is too late. He finds himself thrown out of the Indian cricket team because of disciplinary reasons.
Suddenly the hero of the cricket crazy India becomes a villain in everyone's eyes. His father's dreams are shattered. The shock of it all proves fatal for Ram as he suffers from a stroke.
This tragedy awakens Vijay's conscience and sense of honour. He decides to redeem himself in the eyes of his father and every Indian.
Against great odds, he once again makes it back to the Indian team playing in the finals of the Champion's trophy against Australia.
In the emotionally moving final, Vijay plays a stellar role enabling India to win the Trophy.
It is in this last match that Vijay fulfils his father's dreams.
That night he retires from cricket. He decides to spend the rest of his life teaching budding young cricketers of India.
Victory is a moving film about a father from a small village in Rajasthan who dreams that his son will one day becomes an acclaimed cricketer.
The movie was shot to coincide with India's four-Test tour to Australia and is said to be the most expensive Bollywood films to be made.
Victory stars Harman Baweja of the Love Story 2050 fame whilst Amrita Rao plays his love interest. Anupam Kher plays his father with a dream that his son will become a famous cricketer one day.
The film is expected to release in UK cinema in January 2009.
