Prithvi (Emraan Hashmi) is a silent brooding artist expressing his feelings through paintings. Processing a unique gift of going beyond his talent as a painter, Prithvi sees the future.
It is not long before he starts experiencing mysterious and distressing visions of Nandita (Kangana), a woman he has never met.Ìý He paints what he sees in his recurring dreams.
Emraan Hashmi as Prithvi
Intrigued and frightened, Prithvi tracks her down and warns her that these are not merely paintings of her, but accidents waiting to happen. Initially, Nandita refuses to believe him, dismissing all allegations.
But soon, Nandita finds it hard to ignore the striking resemblance between Prithvi’s paintings and the near death incidents she starts experiencing. To top it all up, one of Prithvi’s paintings has revealed her as dead!
The only way she can change her fate is to unravel this mystery with his help, at the risk of alienating herself from her boyfriend, Yash (Adhyayan). Yash is a rational and logical documentary filmmaker refusing to believe Prithvi’s premonitions.
So will Nandita risk all to unravel this mystery? Are some mysteries better left unsolved? Raaz - The Mystery Continues, a spine chiller releasing by Tip Top Entertainment based London has the answers.
Kangana Ranaut as Nandita
The film which explores the evil side of the human consciousness is directed by Mohit Suri of the Awarapan and Woh Lamhe fame. Director Suri is said to have been inspired by Indian myths and legends, where good and evil form the main focus.
Kangana Ranaut once again plays a super-model in this spooky thriller alongside Emraan Hashmi and Adhyayan. Emraan is reported have shed a few pounds to match the physique of the character he is portraying in the film.
Raaz – The Mystery Continues is not a sequel to Bhatt’s previous release, Raaz (meaning secret) which starred Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu in lead roles. Released in 2002, Raaz turned out to be the second largest box office grosser after Devdas during that year.
Raaz spear headed the birth of experimental cinema into the world of supernatural. The movie was readily accepted by audiences craving for more than your average family song and dance movies. Year 2008 saw the successful release of Phoonk and 1920 which did well at the box office.
This gives a good indication that horror genre will be a trend setter for 2009 once Raaz The Mystery Continues, sees a UK release in cinemas.
