Monty (Himesh Reshammiya) is a successful, South Africa-based rock star, enjoying huge popularity. At one of the many parties hosted in his honour, Monty comes across Tina (Shweta Kumar), a ballet dancer with whom he falls in love. That's when his life begins to change...
During one of his rehearsals, Monty suddenly goes into a trance, seeing images of a mansion, temple and a beautiful girl appearing as visual flashes. On further investigation, he discovers a mansion belonging to Ravi Verma, who died in a tragic accident many years ago.
Further flashbacks reveal detailed information showing听Monty as Ravi Verma in his previous life, married to a beautiful girl called Kamini (Urmila Matondkar). To his surprise, Monty realises he is reborn in his current persona. His beautiful love interest (Tina) is none other than Kamini's foster daughter.
Further investigations into his past life reveal that Kamini (with the help of her accomplice Juda) had murdered Ravi to gain possession of his estate. This left Monty's family helpless after his death.
To repay the debt he owed them for all their suffering, Monty now brings his mother and sister out from the dark recesses of their lives. He takes his revenge on Kamini for murdering him in his previous life. And also reunites with Tina.
Monty thus absolves himself of all the 'Karzz' he was reborn with in this intense family melodrama.
Set against the backdrop of South Africa, Karzz is a remake of the 1980s smash hit of the same name, directed by Subhash Ghai. The new Karzz is directed by Satish Kaushik of Shaadi Se Pehle, Vaada, Tere Naam and Badhai Ho Badhai fame.
This drama forms the second acting venture for music director-turned-actor, Himesh Reshammiya which is releasing in UK cinemas by Adlabs Films in mid-October 2008.
