The popularity of Punjabi films has slowly increased in UK cinemas during the last three years, with box office takings surpassing many Bollywood blockbusters. This has resulted in an increased production of family orientated films from Punjabi filmmakers - catering for Sikh communities based in UK, especially the Midlands.
Hashar - A Love Story is one of these new Punjabi films portraying family unity and Punjabi culture, with an underlying social message for their communities.
The film is releasing in UK cinemas by EROS International this August 2008.
