Rock On is the story of four friends who put together the greatest band the country had ever seen, but never made it to the top. Years later, fate conspires to bring them together again and set them on a soul-searching journey back to where they left off.
Joe Mascarenhas (Arjun Rampal) is an idealist and a man of few words. He lets his guitar do the talking.
His loyalty towards his girlfriend and his band makes him the hero. It seems like God filled him with all the talent in the world, but forgot to give him an opening to share it. He is the lead guitarist of the band.
KD (Purab Kohli) is the drummer. Coming from a well-off family, KD does not see eye to eye with his father, who has a jewellery business. He longs to perform on stage if chance allows it.
Then there is Rob Nancy (Luke Kenny), a laid back character who plays the keyboard. But if ever a disagreement arises then Rob will step in and resolve the issue. He was part of the band because he loved what it was really all about - the friendship and the bond.
Last but not the least there is Aditya Shroff (Farhan Akhtar), a boy from Delhi who left the comforts of his parents' home to chase his dream of becoming a singer in a rock band.
He has a flare for unconventional poetry and blessed with a message for today's youth, making him an instant hit with the new generation. He is the lead singer of the band called Magic.
A chance meeting after many years, make them realise that they should carry on where they left off, leading to a journey of discovery and fulfillment in this unusual drama from director Abhishek Kapoor.
