Echoes of Enchantment and Folklore: Mendelssohn, Lutosławski and Weinberg from the ��˿�� Philharmonic

Enjoy a concert of vivid storytelling, magical landscapes and folklore with conductor Clemens Schuldt and flautist Elizaveta Ivanova in a live broadcast at MediaCityUK. Vibrant strings open the concert in Mendelssohn's Athalie Overture, followed by Lutosławski's Little Suite, inspired by a playful exploration of Polish folk music and rich textures. Ivanova takes center stage in Weinberg’s Flute Concerto No. 2, a work of lyrical beauty and technical brilliance. To end, Weinberg's Rhapsody celebrates Moldavian folk songs, a spirited and evocative journey through Eastern European traditional melodies.

How to be in the audience

Step 1: Apply for tickets

Tickets for this show are being allocated by random draw, so when we receive your ticket request your details are added to the list of applicants. Applications are accepted until the publicised closing date/time.

Step 2: Receive a message

Once the random draw has closed all eligible requests are entered into the draw. If successful, we notify you by text message and send your e-ticket(s) to your email address. If unsuccessful you will be kept on the waiting list in case anyone cancels their tickets.

Step 3: Bring your tickets and ID

We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people. Remember that every guest must bring original approved photo ID.

Please note that tickets are non-transferable. They cannot be transferred to another date or to a person who is not named on the ticket. If your application for tickets is successful, your tickets will be printed with the name of the person who applied. The name printed on your tickets must match the name on your approved photo ID otherwise you won’t be admitted. If you request two or more tickets because you are taking a guest along, all tickets will be printed with the name of the person who made the ticket application. Our tickets can only be used by the person named on the tickets, accompanied by any guest(s) they wish to bring along. Every additional guest aged 18 and above must also bring a form of photo ID from our approved list. Photo ID must be original and in date (copies and out of date ID won’t be accepted). If you cannot provide this proof you will be refused entry. Please note that all guests must be accompanied by the named ticket holder to ensure entry.

��˿�� Philharmonic Studio, Salford

There are various food and drink outlets at MediaCityUK but please note there are limited catering facilities at Dock 10 Studios. If you wish to eat or drink before the concert, we highly recommend you do so before joining the ticket validation queue. You are welcome to bring a snack to have whilst you queue. Once your ticket has been validated, it may be possible for you to go elsewhere for refreshments but this, and the timeframe for doing so, is at the Studio Audience Manager’s discretion and depends on broadcasting and recording schedules on the day. Bottled water is permitted inside the Philharmonic Studio.

Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people.

Duplicate applications will be disregarded.
